The Cottonwood Area Community Foundation encourages grant applications from non-profit, tax-exempt organizations, schools, churches (for non-sectarian purposes), residences and businesses within the Cottonwood postal area: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, the environment, health and wellness, human services, and youth and seniors.
General Grant Guidelines for applicants to the Cottonwood Area Community Foundation
Must be submitted by a 501c3 organization, a unit of government, or by a public agency. Organizations that are not tax exempt must apply through a fiscal agent willing to accept financial responsibility for the project. Preference will be given to projects submitted by local applicants.
Grants generally range from $500 to $1,000 but are not limited to these amounts. The Foundation would prefer funding up to 50% of a project. Generally, the remaining 50% should be provided through other sources including in-kind donations.
Grant-making Priorities:
Avoid duplication of services
Benefit the greatest number of people and yield substantial community benefit
Strengthen or improve the organization’s self-sufficiency and efficiency
Promote youth development
Address emerging community needs
